I pay my bills online. If you don’t, you’re silly.

However, I take it one step further than most.

Instead of getting my bill each month and paying the exact amount, I just pay 3-4 months worth of payments. That way, each month I get bills that say things like “DO NOT PAY” and “$634.75 CREDIT”.

Opening bills is much more fun now. And if you think I’m crazy for sending $1000 to my cable company or $1500 to my electric company–I say, again, you’re silly.

I’m paying the same as I would, I’m just getting it out of the way all at once. And once my cable bill gets down to $100 CREDIT or so, I’ll put in another $1k. Its just easier this way.

Those hardcore economists might mention future value of money and all that, but come on, who’s getting a monster return from their checking account anyway?

So there you go….the Landon Swan way of paying bills….you should try it.
