Hard drive recovery update

As you know, my external hard drive failed recently—with all the digital pictures I’ve ever taken on it, and tons of video and lots of other documents.
I’ve decided to go with ECO Data Recovery.
I talked to people from them, Data Recovery Corp, and Drive Savers.  Although I felt like Drive Savers had the best chance […]

Advice from dad ignored

Dad always told me “Take care of the little things, the big things will take care of themselves.”
This is fantastic advice.  It always works, unless you forget to take it, like I did today/last night.
Last night I decided that today I would bike to and from work. I plugged in both addresses to google maps […]

Checking up on my friends’ politics haha

Today I checked on my voting location at https://cdcbp.ky.gov/VICWeb/VIC and quickly discovered that I could check up on my friends’ political party if I knew their birthdate haha.
So far I’ve only had one surprise–one of my previous best friends is a registered democrat.
Find your state’s website, check up on your friends! Its fun!

Back up your data!

I thought I was…
I store all my digital pictures on an Acomdata external hard drive. The reason I do this is because I’ve had the same home desktop computer for about 6 years, but I’ve had to ‘nuke’ it 3 or 4 times to get it back to pristine condition.
Well today I was going to […]

Look in the mirror…

Ok this is a little “deep thoughts with Jack Handy” ish…. but give this a try…
I love life. I love my life and I love life in general. I am glad to have this opportunity to live. However…one thing I wish was different, somehow, is that we only get one perspective in life. I’ll […]

Poll Concerns

No this isn’t about the Acorn scam, although that does frustrate me and concern me…
This is about optimism and fact. I intended to write this poll about the fact that Kerry was leading Bush up to election day in 2004, but Bush still won. This was going to lead into a discussion about optimism […]

Weekend Plans: nada

Although I’m sad to see summer gone, I am looking forward to no travel and no hassles this weekend. I’ll do what I want when I want how I want …..ahhh….
All in all it was a great summer, and over the next few weeks I will revisit it in my blog, but for now, its […]

My vote for president may suprise you…

I have not made up my mind completely. As you may know, fiscal policy and taxes are by far the most important issues to me. Generally I believe in a small government, low taxes and personal freedom. I consider myself a libertarian and am considering voting for the libertarian nominee for president, Bob Barr.
Obviously my […]

Political Words

Watching the town-hall debate tonight just drove me nuts….
“Fair taxing” = redistribution of wealth
“De-regulation” = Failure to save the people from greedy evil capitalistic companies
“Markets run wild” = Free-markets
“Cut taxes for 95% of Americans” = Steal from the rich, give to the poor….socialism
“Health care is a American right” = Let’s force the markets’ supply, thereby […]

Survey: Million Dollar Contest

You’re enjoying a beautiful day at Louisville Slugger Field watching the Riverbats play some baseball.
The annoucer comes over the P.A. and reads off a seat number–yours!
You’ve just won a contest!
They take you down to home plate where they’ve set up a patch of grass with a golf ball on it, and there is a golf […]
